Meet Our Leader
Bevin Elliott is the senior pastor of Rebirth, a newly established church based in Westrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
He has been actively involved in ministry for over 20 years, predominantly preaching and teaching the word of God.
Bevin and his wife Zoe have been married since 2015 and have 5 children.
While everyone is keen on receiving the unfolding mysteries of the Kingdom of God, Bevin sees it critical for us to grasp foundational biblical doctrine.
He also has a passion to see the Church fall in love with a personal study of the Scriptures while acknowledging that the kingdom of God is not in word only but in demonstration of Spirit and power.

Statement of Beliefs
We believe that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testament, in their original writing as fully inspired by God, authoritative, trustworthy and true and without error (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
We believe there is only one God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is self-sufficient and eternal (Exodus 3:14) (Matthew 28:19)
We believe Jesus Christ is God, in His virgin birth, He lived a sinless life, performed many miracles, in His death that paid for our sin through His shed blood (John 3:16), in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension/rising up to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory (Hebrews 1:1-3) (John 1:1; Matthew 1:18,25; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 9:15-22; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 9:27-28)
Man is made in the spiritual image of God, to be like him in character. He is the supreme object of God’s creation. Although man has tremendous potential for good, he by original sin and by fallen nature, has fallen short of God’s glory. This attitude separates man from God. Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1, 2
We believe that the only path to salvation is belief in Jesus Christ alone, believing on Him and repentance from sin (John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9; Acts 4:12)
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who lives within Christians to empower them, so they are enabled to live fruitful lives and live lives pleasing to God. (Galatians 5:22-23; John 14:26; Ephesians 1:13-14)
We believe in eternal life, and that through belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, we spend eternity with the Lord in Heaven. We believe that in rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we receive eternal suffering in hell and eternal separation from God. (Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
We believe God’s design for sexual intimacy is to be expressed only within the context of marriage. God instituted marriage between one man and one woman as the foundation of the family and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one man and one woman. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9)
We believe Baptism by immersion symbolizes the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus and is your public declaration that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Baptism does not save you, but shows the world that you have already been saved. And while baptism is not required for salvation, it is a biblical command and demonstrates your love and obedience to Christ. Colossians 2:12; Acts 2:41; Ephesians 2: 8-9; Matthew 28:19-20
We believe the Lord’s Supper, is an ordinance given to all believers by Jesus Christ to remember his sacrifice for us and to symbolize the new covenant until He returns.
The elements of bread and wine or juice are symbols of Christ’s broken body and shed blood. Communion is not a means of salvation. Rather, it is a testament of a believer’s faith in the atoning work of the cross. Matthew 26:26-30; Mark 14:22-26; Luke 22:19,20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
